In Slatina, Croatia, a combined heat and power plant (CHP) together with wood chips drying center are being built by Gorenje projekt for investment company Energy 9. Electrical power of 5,0 MW will be delivered to public electrical grid once the CHP is finished. The remaining heat will be used by a new wood chips drying center as well as by food processing industry located near the CHP.
The core of the CHP, namely the biomass-based high-pressure steam boiler is being produced by Croatian boiler producer Đuro Đaković TEP.
The high-pressure steam boiler has been in operation since the beginning of October 2018. The first electrical energy will be delivered to electrical grid in November, while the CHP will operate with full power from December 2018.
