On Friday, 11th September 2015, the Drinking Water Treatment Plant at the location of Grmov vrh was the venue of the formal opening of the drinking water treatment plant as part of the project “Integrated Drinking Water Supply in the Šaleška Valley”.
A small hydroelectric power plant has been installed at the Grmov vrh waterworks to cover its own electricity consumption, with the possibility of feeding excess electricity into the grid.
The small hydropower plant consists of a 176kW Pelton turbine, a generator and a control system. The Pelton turbine is connected to an inlet pipeline with a flow rate of Q=180 l/s and a water drop of 114 m.
